Pahalgam and the anti Terror Measures

India's measures against Pakistan have always been high on decibels and low on substance. I think this time also there will be no exception. Whatever measures the Government adopted so far are superficial, it will not harm the terrorists and their sponsors, but only ordinary people who anyway are noncitizens in their own country. The Indian government should have responded swiftly as the global opinion was in its favour, but it dilly-dallied, as usual. It did not respond in 1999 after the IC 814 hijacking, did not take stern steps after the Kargil war, did not give a fitting reply after the Parliament attack in 2001, went for "aman ki asha" after the 2008 Mumbai carnage, did a superficial surgical strike before 2019 elections to win votes (why would you do a covert strike in an area you consider your own - viz. POJK?), and extended hands of friendship time and again despite betrayals. Why did it have visas for Pakistanis, why did it keep the diplomatic relations alive? why the Indus water treaty was not nullified before, after all, terrorism is not a recent problem. why was it not leveraged as a weapon to get Hafiz Sayed, the Mumbai mastermind? No answers! As usual, the Government of India still thinks it can avoid wars and get away with it. Unfortunately, our country will pay a terrible price for this delay in punishing a rogue state and its rogue army. As long as ordinary citizens and the armymen pay the price and the politicians are safe, they are not bothered. They will only respond to win votes.

That was what Bhagwanji alluded to - a weak-kneed nation and its self-centered people are bound to undergo terrible suffering until sense draws to them. Remember Krishna's killing of Sishupala. The days of mercy are over - now please strike before it is too late. Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, we miss your decisive leadership. Please reincarnate. We are tired of self-serving political ecosystem that is leading your beloved country to ruin.
